A touch of blush brings your face to life in seconds. But where you put it changes the result a lot: it can lift, soften or give a more youthful look.
Round face
Apply blush slightly above the apples of your cheeks and blend diagonally toward your temples. This visually lengthens the face.
Oval face
Place it on the apples of your cheeks and blend back. This is the most versatile shape, so you can play with different techniques.
Square face
Apply it in soft circles on the apples of your cheeks to soften the angles of your jaw.
Long face
Place it horizontally, from the apples toward your ears. This makes the face look wider and more balanced.
Heart-shaped face
Apply blush on the lower part of the cheeks and blend upward, staying away from your nose.
Powder, cream or liquid?
- Powder: great for oily skin and hot weather; apply over set foundation.
- Cream: natural, dewy finish; perfect for dry or normal skin.
- Liquid: very pigmented, one drop is enough. Blend quickly.
The right shade
Fair skin: soft pinks and peach. Medium skin: coral, bright pink and mauve. Tan or deep skin: raspberry, plum, terracotta and deep oranges.
